New Student Work!

This semester I'm teaching at ART 109 (Introduction to Sculpture).
Here are the results of our first project!

Objective: Three-dimensional form can be thought of as the addition of slices of varying shapes. To explore this concept, we will construct a three dimensional shape from layers of cardboard. By increasing the scale of a commonly recognized object, in this case a vegetable or fruit, we will be able to investigate our different response to it. A change in material also affects this and we will look at the role texture plays in the appearance of an object. This project also introduces the idea of 3-D printing and how a 3D printer works.
