Rachel, I really love this work! There's so many people using CAD and rapid prototyping now, and most of them forget that it's "prototyping." Lol. But your adjusting of the material and addition of the traditional techniques and materials really makes these stellar pieces. Awesome job!
thank you, john! just because a process is meant to be something (ie: a prototype) doesn't mean that it NEEDS to be used in that way. the world and the processes and materials that exist here are wide open.. why be limited by an intended purpose?
Were these pieces designed with a CAD program? I really love the top piece and bottom piece, they're remind me of little creatures.

ReplyDeleteyes they were. the white is SLS plastic that was 3D printed. I then took them and manipulated them in the studio. and, thanks! :)
